New MM client files and new IP for CAP server
Saturday, February 24, 2001 - posted by Truzenzuzex[BC]CAP master server down for a 24-36 hours...Due to re-wiring of my home network I have been assigned a new IP (24.166.165.108) for [BC]'s CAP-N-YO-ASS master game server. WARNING: I expect it to change again sometime in the next week after my new router/switch arrives and I finalize all my network wiring.
Come on in and play some Catch the Chicken, you know you want too.
MonkeyHarris has released REV4 of the anti-cheat client side files this weekend. Click this link to go grab them now. He has updated for some new cheats, and incorporated checks for all the custom models that I provided for him.
Tuesday, February 20, 2001 - posted by Truzenzuzex[BC]UpdatePhase 1: Rearranging the network in my house, along with upgrading to full-duplex 200Mbps LAN. So, some portions of the web site will be down (STATS and SKIN-CHECK), along with the infamous [BC]'s CAP-N-YO-ASS ~ Catch the Chicken server. Provided the cable company doesn't dick me over on my scheduled re-wiring appointment, and nothing gets dropped as I move things around it will be back up Wed night, or Thurs morning.
Phase 2 and 3 involve some PC upgrades, long overdue, I'm finally upgrading beyond my tweaked out P2-350's. That will come in next 2-4 weeks.

There is a shit load of maps at this point and the place to get them is at www.evilcity.co.uk and www.runecenter.com and www.runenews.com. Our server is up and going 24/7 as usual. The weekend has been busy for us and even though server only holds 6 players its almost full all the time. I will be changing to 8 to 10 players soon as new patch comes out. Our server is called [BC]'s Gladiator Arena!! Be sure to stop by for some beheadings.
Sunday, February 11, 2001 - posted by Truzenzuzex[BC]Army Man model released...I'm am in the middle of upgrading [BC]'s Skin Check aka "Skin-N-Yo-Ass" online skin checker system. I have upgraded it to give a 'live' reading of skins installed on our master server, along with links to the model files for those missing them. I plan on having the "free slot" check routine updated within 24 hours to handle all the models. Check your new custom skin to insure it does not conflict with any of the 4100+ pre-existing skins, and then submit it to our game servers.

Why do you not answer email/icq...TanyaCheex created a new male model back in November, but had it on "hold" status for the upcoming Team Assault 2 MOD ... However, I have seen this Army Man model leaked, and in play for quite sometime now and receive questions about it regularly. Last week TanyaCheex ICQ'd me a vague message giving me 'authority' to release the model. You can see a screenshot and download the new model by clicking on this link. Hopefully Hogie and crew will not execute me for releasing this model, but it has been 3 months since I first got my hands on this model.
I have also updated the Poisonville FTP site so that all custom models are now housed on the big 3DDownload file system.
Wednesday, February 7, 2001 - posted by Truzenzuzex[BC]Yet another anti-cheat updateMost of our [BC] server regulars know I have been having arm/neck/shoulder problems for a while (a year now). Lately, I have been out, avoiding the computer, to try and allow my neck to heal. For those medically inclined I have a mild intervertebral disc desiccation at C5-6 and C6-7. At C6-7 there is a minimal central annular bulging which does not significantly efface the thecal sac or cause neural foraminal compromise... whew that was a mouthful... I just received my first (of many) spine/nerve block shots yesterday, which will hopefully help. I have received all your emails, and will respond to them as time permits.

"rate flooding" issue has been solved. Appreciate all the feedback and config files sent in for those 2-3 dozen people having problems. Now we are waiting on Monkey Harris to provide us with a new CDS.dll and new MM clients to counter the aimbots being used around town.
As soon as I have time I will be updating the Catch the Chicken client pack files with new chickens TiCaL has sent in. These include the new Alien model, and also new/replacement Thug/Bitch/Runt chicken models.

Thursday, February 1, 2001 - posted by Truzenzuzex[BC]A NEW beta version of the bwadmin has been installed on the CAP and DPG servers. I am sure this will cause some grief with players, but that is why it is beta.
Are you getting kicked with a "RATE-FLOODING" message? Then you have the RATE command in BOUND to your setup somehow.
How do I fix my machine so I don't get kicked??? Well remove your RATE changing scripts, your flooding binds, key binds where you SHOOT/MOVE & CUSS at the same time, skin/model rotating scripts, name changing scripts...you get the idea. Quit wasting our server bandwidth, and the other players bandwidth with your stupid attempts to lag the game.
It seems a lot of people have been sharing a common .CFG file with a ton of people, with this RATE adjust bind BOUND to their FIRE button, or LEFT/RIGHT strafe... this is just plain wrong/cheating. You need to remove it.
If you think you are getting kicked incorrectly, then we need: copies of your auto/config.cfg files and and exec .cfg scripts, along with how to replicate your "RATE-FLOOD" getting kicked problem step-by-step. Email to: truz@cap-n-yo-ass.com. The files are normally located in your \kingpin\main\ directory, you may have custom ones in your \kingpin\ctc\ and \kingpin\hitmen\ dirs also.
I *KNOW* for a fact that the lag/dodge-hit script has been being "abused" on our servers for the least 6+ weeks, as I have seen it in action. It is not a legit script since it floods the servers in an attempt to give the player an edge. Side-Effect: most other players lag aka "plug" excessively, regardless of their connection type.
